Roblox Age Checks Unpopularity & The Chief Knows it

The ongoing implements of Roblox age check requirements bothered the individuals so much that the comment box filled. Therefore, the Roblox Chief Officer came ahead to respond with the stance that “nothing costs safety even if it’s unpopular.”

However, Roblox has rolled out new age checks if the Roblox players want to access the “age chat box” and that’s annoying for them. The quick check outs from which the players have to pass include;

  • Facial Age Estimation
  • ID Verification

Earlier this month, it was announced that the age verification is rolled out for children between 5-8 and 9-15 respectively. Besides, there are more restrictions for new publishing content requirements for every player who is going to publish any gaming content on Roblox.

Roblox Age Verification Process

The verification process for the players who want to publish any content involves three major specifications including;

  • ID to be verified
  • Two-factor Authentication
  • Active Roblox Plus Subscription ($4.99/month)

Beyond the age verification, the new publishing games will go through a new evaluation process before they come into the hands of the community. If someone is going to publish any Roblox content to the players of age 16 or to their trusted friends will also go through the age verification process.

Roblox Strict Verification Policy

Kaufman, Roblox Chief Safety Officer acknowledged the strict verification policy saying that even though it’s unpopular, it will balance child safety and freedom. Chief further said that the core agreement isn’t about preference, it’s about survival.

Roblox will surely lose access in entire regions if the verification policy and restriction doesn’t follow like that. In case the age check process estimation goes wrong, players can appeal the decision and use alternative methods. You can also check out Roblox premium plans announced recently.

This may include their ID verification or checking out the parental controls allowing parents to estimate their child’s age. Roblox’s Q4 2025 earnings report dropped a not-so-shocking stat this week: their age checks are painting a picture of an even younger crowd than users claimed.

The company saw this coming. Among the 45% of users who’ve completed verification, a whopping 35% are under 13, 38% fall between 13-17, and just 27% are 18 or older.
